The new 40 GB IPod. A trip to the Bahamas for Spring Break. A large one-topping pizza every week for a whole year. Twenty new DVDs. Thirty pedicures at WaveLengths on America's Cup Blvd. These are all things which costs approximately $400.

How can Salve students pocket the $400? Well, if a student drinks one soda or beverage at roughly $1.50 per drink, per day, for one academic school year at Salve, he or she is spending approximately $400 on beverages.

By investing in the new SodexHo refillable cup, available for purchase in Miley Cafeteria and the Sky Ranch Grill, students have the opportunity to save approximately $400 and put that money towards a number of things.

The refillable cup was suggested by the Student Government Association and approved by SodexHo and is now being offered to Salve students and staff. Currently, there are two different cups available for purchase: a soda, juice, water and milk cup and a coffee mug. Once purchased, the mug can be refilled continuously during operating hours of Miley Cafeteria and the Global Café dining facilities.

The cups may be taken out of the facilities, for the cup-owner's convenience and are expected to be washed by the cup-owner. However, SodexHo is not responsible for lost or stolen cups. According to Cecily Collins, a SodexHo employee, "Students are responsible for keeping track of their cups. If the cups are lost, they will need to be repurchased."

The refillable cups are being offered to students at a very reasonable price: $30 for the soda, juice, water and milk cup and $25 for the coffee mug. These prices reflect the 2004-2005 academic school year and may be used for the whole school year.
