NEWPORT R.I. – For many service members serving overseas in combat, life’s luxuries become life’s necessities.

Salve Regina University’s college Democrats, Republicans and Political Science Club are coming together to provide some of these necessities to service members who are in desperate need of them.

Salve Regina is helping to bring dancing dreams alive. “The Let Loose Dance Troupe,” sponsored by Salve’s CEC chapter and the SRU Dance Club, offers hour long inclusive dance lessons, free and open to the public. The troupe meets in the Antone Center dance studio Tuesdays at 3 p.

It’s a pretty harsh world out there. Even harsher now that big chains of stores are closing, multi-million dollar companies are requiring bailouts and job opportunities are shrinking everyday. Living in this type of economy is not something that our generation is entirely ready for.

PROVIDENCE R.I. – The audience applauded loudly on Mar. 30, 2009 when Brown University’s President Ruth J. Simmons introduced the former Prime Minster of Italy and former president of the European Commission, Romano Prodi, to talk about the state of Europe in today’s world.
