Tragedies are never pleasant to relive. The story of Matthew Shepard, an openly gay Wyoming man who in 1998 was brutally murdered because of his sexual orientation, is no different. When the dust finally settled, Shepard became a global symbol of unity and solidarity for people of all races, religions and sexual preferences.

Mercy Center Holds Fall Retreat

While most Salve students will be out trick-or-treating, over 18 students will be making new friends at The Mercy Center’s annual Fall Retreat. Taking place at the Episcopal Conference Center in Pascoag, RI, the retreat will start at around 4 p.m. Oct. 31 and go until noon Nov.
