Election 2004 is now in full swing, and the editors at the Mosaic believe it is important that the Salve Regina community is aware of the Democratic candidates and what their positions are. Screaming fans, rumbling bleachers, bursting flashbulbs, and news cameras. What brings this type of crowd? The Salve women’s basketball team drew 550 fans to Roger’s Recreation Center last night at 7PM when they took on the Emmanuel College Saints in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

It’s that time again. I’m sure you’ve noticed while flipping through the channels, back and forth from MTV, BET, and your soap operas, that the inundation of the television networks by the ongoing political campaigns has begun. Maybe you’re like me, and as soon as you even see the names of “Kerry” or “Dean,” and even strange words like “caucuses,” you immediately flip by to get to the next music video or reality show.

Sardella’s restaurant is one of the most established restaurants in Newport. Its reasonable prices and atmosphere make it a fine dining experience. Other restaurants have huge establishments, making noise a factor when out to dinner. Availability and personalities of the employees help enhance the experience, making the patron a priority.

Road trips across the country take more time and money than most of us have, but that doesn’t mean we have to feel stuck at home. Newport, RI, is a gorgeous place with lots to see, but once in a while it is great to break out and hit the road with a few friends to experience what other places have to offer.
