Looking back at my first week as a Seahawk, I’ve already gained some valuable insight. Aside from finally learning the correct buttons to press in the Miley elevators, I’ve realized that every anxiety and adjustment I’ve endured has only been a learning experience that needed to be attained eventually.

As the new academic year begins at Salve Regina University, the campus is frequently bustling with student life during the day. Students walk to class, participate in activities and attend organized events. At some point during their regular routines, students walk past a construction site, located on Ochre Avenue between Ochre Court and McAuley Hall.

Newport, RI – In its eighth year at Salve, the women’s volleyball team refuses to lose their spirit as they expect to make a big comeback in the second half of the season.

Since 2006, the team has only been getting better, accumulating more wins and even advancing to the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament each of the past four years.

A new chapter in Salve Regina history began on September 18, 2009 with the inauguration of Salve’s seventh president, Dr. Jane Gerety, RSM. At the inaugural ceremony on the Wakehurst lawn, Gerety delivered her inaugural address centered on the theme of hope.
