Where are you likely to find 19-year-old freshman Spencer Kimmins on any given night? Certainly not in his dorm room. Kimmins, a Graphic Design major, frequents New York any given night to perform with his band, The Static Jacks, a New Jersey based quintet who have put out two EPs and already had one of their songs played on Nickelodeon and XM Radio.

Just last week on Mar. 2, 2009, history was made in California, but it is a day that will be remembered with mourning, anger and hurt. Three Oakland officers were fatally shot and a forth was left brain dead and later died from his injuries, all at the hand of a parole violator pulled over for a routine traffic stop.
