Dua Lipa’s “Studio 2054”: A World Tour from Home

By: Emily Mikolay | Staff Writer

Dua Lipa is hitting the dance floor with her most recent concert! Studio 2054 is yet another addition to her list of performances (this one being virtual and completely from the comfort of your own television or computer), and frankly, this tops them all!

The show was completely comprised to give off a club-like atmosphere. Dancers, background singers, and even roller-skaters filled the concert; each person perfectly choreographed to the song being performed.

During the show, Dua Lipa performed some of her most well-known songs such as “One Kiss” and “New Rules”, though the spectacle mainly featured songs based off of her newest album, Future Nostalgia.

The concert opened up featuring the title song off her new album, and gradually followed up with many more tracks. Most notably, her dance hits “Don’t Start Now”, “Break My Heart”, “Physical”, and “Levitating” were included in the set list for this show.

The whole idea of this performance was to really make it feel like you are in a club/club scene. The room was full of dancing, energetic lights in an array of flashing colors, and in all the performers appeared to be having a great time.

In addition to some roller skating and hula-hooping throughout the show, many guest artists appeared during the concert to sing with Dua Lipa. For instance, Miley Cyrus made an appearance to perform her new song, Prisoner, with Dua Lipa from her new album, Plastic Hearts. Kylie Minogue also joined the concert to sing Dua’s song, “Electricity”, and her own song, “Real Groove”, off Minogue’s new album, DISCO. Even Elton John made an appearance to perform his classic hit, “Rocket Man”!

Other artists included FKA twigs, The Blessed Madonna, ONE DAY, Angèle, J Balvin, Bad Bunny, and Tainy.

Overall the entire feel and aesthetic of this concert really made it seem like you were at a live performance, not just watching on a screen from your own home. From the costume changes to the perfectly “disco-like” sets, you truly felt like you stepped back in time.

As always, Dua Lipa outdid herself with her Studio 2054 concert and performance. If you get an opportunity to view it, definitely do so! You would not want to miss out on this entertaining concert event!
