Autumn is officially upon us and the temperature will soon be dropping as quickly as the leaves are. The remains of summer air can still be felt outside, but by the end of this month it will be time to break out those sweaters and Ugg boots! Popular colors for this fall are red, purple, winter white, and anything bright. Stop by the bookstore to stock up on sweatshirts and sweatpants to prepare for the upcoming cold weather. Stay warm and support our school all at once!

There are great ways to get into the spirit of the season. Decorate your dorm room by buying pumpkins or any other festive decorations. Go apple-picking with your friends! The Rocky Brook Orchard in Middletown, Rhode Island is a great place to go on a weekend. The orchard is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm and is available for apple, peach, or pear picking. It offers over 45 different kinds of apples and is extremely spacious and gives you the chance to spread out and find your own picking spot. Apple-picking is something fun to do and will definitely get you into the autumn attitude!

Don’t let the end of summer bring you down. There are plenty of ways to enjoy the season and to appreciate the change of weather. Salve’s campus is gorgeous in the fall. Go outside and enjoy the weather before you need a winter coat. Also, get your costumes ready because Halloween is rapidly approaching!
