Holiday Gifts for Under $25

We have all seen it coming. We see the commercials, the decorations that smother the stores, and all the sales and promises of “buy four get one free” gifts. Let’s face it – the holiday season is here. Whether or not you get goose bumps at the sight of Christmas lights, or cringe and start to feel the anxiety rise and get to your spirit, the holiday season is a time for giving and receiving.

Being college students, we understand the tight budget for spending money this season. Below is a list of items of 25 dollars or less that are found at stores in downtown Newport. These gifts could be given to friends, parents, girlfriend/boyfriend, brothers, sisters, grandparents and other random gifts for loved ones that maybe you could mix and match as you take a stroll down Thames Street!

GIRLS:

At the Gap, the lambswool rugby hat for $16.50 or the ribbed tassal scarf for $19.50 would make a nice gift for the outdoor girl. Or if you are struggling to find the perfect present, a gift certificate of $25 to a friend would satisfy. Additionally, Treats for Lips from The Body Shop, would cure her chapped lips at a price of 3 for $12. Not sure of his favorite, sure to please choices are: Pirates of the Caribbean, Bad Boys II, or the upcoming releases from Hoobastank, Offspring, Nelly, Jack Johnson, or Counting Crows. Another video option is taking him to see LOTR: The Return of the King in theaters Dec. 17.
