Semester in Review

Semester in Review

By Michelle Karparis | Associate Editor

Studying for finals brings out the worst moments for many of us–staying up until 7 am on the day of a test, attempting to write an 8 page paper in a matter of hours, scrolling through Facebook (or the Mosaic homepage) seeking any and every kind of distraction. Of course, reviewing 12 chapters of information you learned in September doesn’t tend to bring back the fondest of memories… The good news is that if you need a reminder of some of the great moments Salve students shared this semester instead (or just really need that distraction), here are some highlights of Fall 2016!

On October 12th, members of the Black Student Union held a demonstration in Wakehurst called “Don’t Forget About Flint.” You may remember students walking around drinking black-dyed water out of plastic water bottles. The goal of this event was to spread awareness of the ongoing water crisis happening in Flint, Michigan.

The Fall 2016 edition of the Willow Literary Magazine hit shelves across Salve on December 7th. The magazine features various kinds of entirely student-submitted prose, poetry, and photography and you can pick up a copy from any of these racks around campus!

Of course, there were dozens of other events to occur across campus over the course of the semester–much more than can be recapped in the span of one article. Be sure to check back in next semester for more campus event updates!
