SRU Dance presented its fall performance “Blame it On the Boogie”on Nov. 21,2009 and Nov. 22, 2009. SRU Dance is one of the largest clubs on campus and has more than 100 performers. “Blame it On the Boogie” had 26 dances and featured a special tribute to Michael Jackson. The ten minute dance, “For the King” highlighted memorable Michael Jackson songs while showcasing the talents of the SRU dancers. Besides the finale, the performances showed how hard the club practiced all semester. The dances throughout the night ranged from hip hop to jazz, lyrical to Irish step dancing and ballet.

Saturday’s performance was “pay what you can.” The proceeds went to the Andrea Rizzo Foundation. Andrea Rizzo was tragically killed by a drunk driver at the age of 24. The Andrea Rizzo Foundation provides dance therapy to children with cancer and special needs throughout the country.

The dancers all performed with heart, grace and a lot of energy. The crowd was alive and enthusiastically cheered on the dancers. All the dances were choreographed by Salve students and each one had a different flair and style that lit up the stage. Next semester’s performance will be up for a challenge to top this one.
