Trendy Threads for Spring

Mosaic Staff Writer;

This spring has brought on warm weather, longer days and of course, new trends. Around campus or around Newport people everywhere are debuting these fresh trends. Mixing up your wardrobe can be difficult especially after the dull colors of winter but these five styles will be sure to get you ready to embrace spring.

Bold stripes are very popular now and people are sporting them in different ways. Striped tees, blazers, sweaters and dresses have been seen for all occasions. They also tie in perfectly with the nautical atmosphere of Newport.

Statement sunglasses are another emerging spring trend. Straying away from the traditional aviators is key to keep up with this trend. The fifties cat eye look and more structured frames can add a vintage touch to your look.

Peekaboo cutouts are hot now also, especially for going out looks. When you want to show a little skin, this is the perfect way to do so without being over the top.  A form-fitting top with sheer cutouts achieves that perfect balance.

Floral prints may be a bit obvious for spring, but they are always a reoccurring trend when the warm weather rolls around. Tiny floral prints have splashed back on the radar showing up on colored jeans, blouses and even purses.

Finally, Lace has made its way into the spring season by appearing on flirty tanks, dresses and even denim shorts. It adds a classic touch to any ensemble.

So the next time you go shopping remember these spring trends that will surely get you noticed and help you ring in spring.
