Two upcoming films, Sprited Away and Seabiscuit, will be shown in the Wakehurst theater in December.
Spirited Away is an animated foreign film from Japan. It is a fantasy adventure about a ten year-old girl named Chihiro whose family gets sidetracked from a car ride into a world of spirits. Her parents are transformed into pigs from their greedy feasting of the spirits meal. It is now up to Chihiro to save her parents and herself in this strange world. The movie was the 2003 Oscar winner for best animated feature film.
December 2 – 4, 7, 9:15 p.m.
Seabiscuit is a true tale of beating the odds in the Depression era. Tobey Maguire plays an ex-prizefighter and troubled jockey hired to train an unruly and awkward horse, named Seabiscuit. The men surrounding Seabiscuit gain new hope and inspiration as the horse transforms from an insignificant creature into a record-breaker. The horse’s legend is one that inspired a nation in despair.
