Blind Date With a Book: Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover

By Stephanie Menders | Staff Writer

Blind dates. At their worst, they give you a hilarious story to tell your friends. But sometimes, they can lead to love at first sight. On Thursday, February 11th, McKillop Library hosted “Blind Date with a Book” in Miley lobby.

The event, previously themed around Earth Day and films as books, was in honor of Valentine’s Day. Books were wrapped in paper and stamped with a summary alongside a picture of a heart. Students entering Miley could peruse the selection and take a chance without knowing the book’s title, author or cover art.

Librarians Kristin Butler and Dawn Emsellem were present to check out the chosen books on student’s library accounts. The excited reactions of the students prove that it is best not to judge a book by its cover.
