Salve’s Men’s Baseball Looks Forward to a Return to the Field

Salve’s men’s baseball team returned to the field, better than ever. As of April 20, 2021, the team stood with 10 wins, 3 losses, and one tie. Given a very different semester, the Seahawks still maintained another great season.

“We’re all really positive and just thankful we were able to have a season,” said Sophomore catcher, Logan Zezima.

Many games this season were cancelled, but that did not stop them. After last year’s season being cancelled to the pandemic, they were nevertheless able to maintain a strong team chemistry.

“It feels great to be out there again and competing for more games than last year,” added Zezima. Through long days of practice and games, the team is determined to do the best they can and improve from past seasons and games.

Granted, every team shares the goal of winning. However, the Seahawks work hard to maintain the expectation set upon them by their record.

Rather than feel overwhelmed by pressure, Zezima stated that, “We don’t let it affect us during each game.”

As the season ends, the players expressed gratitude that they got to resume a semi-normal season. Their goals have always been to get more trophies, but they are just continuing the activity that many have loved since they were in little league.

“I am very excited to be finishing out such a strong season and can’t wait for what we bring to the plate next year,” Zezima said.

Best of luck next year, Seahawks!
